Amazon.com Tests Online Postage Service for Marketplace Sellers

Good for Stamps.com. Looks like they are competing with Endicia and getting brand around. Its nice to see them get some integration set up. For the longest time, they were pretty lousy at it, but I’ve seen them become more aggressive and try to make more market share away from Endicia over time. They are doing it by competing around the edges — niche sellers, small volume sellers, etc. I wish Stamps.com luck!

Amazon is running a beta test of an online postage printing service for Marketplace sellers, according to Steve Weber's Selling Books blog. The service uses Stamps.com, and according to Mr. Weber, sellers will not have to pay Stamps.com's monthly subscription fee of $15.99; however, there is a fee of 7 cents per postage label.

Amazon.com sent a letter to its Marketplace sellers last week with a link to more information on automatically paying for postage using the Marketplace Payments account.
